Hi Pete,
You cannot equate that a Politician can only be good, if he is Christian. Religion and Politics are two separate things, so you really have, at the very least, four probabilities:
Good Politically Good Christian Good Politically Bad Christian Bad Politically Good Christian Bad Politically Bad Christian
Since I live in Abilene Texas, I can only speak of Politicians that find their way onto the ballot I vote. Keep in mind that Texas is probably the most conservative Radical Religious Righter state in the country, and definitely GWB country.
Currently every elected and appointed office in Texas is occupied by a Republican, strongly leaning towards the Radical Religious Righters persuasion. Since the state, as a whole, has gone off the deep end to the extreme, I would have a difficult time finding anyone that I would consider both a good Christian and good Politically. I would say that the people below are the ones that represent me, but perhaps it would be more true to say the people below serve the Republican agenda more than they represent me or their other constituents.
Governor: Rick Perry Senator: Kay Bailey Hutchinson Senator: John Cornyn Congressman of the 19th District: Randy Neugebauer
Congress Randy Neugebauer was muscled into office by an illegal mid-term redistricting in Texas with the help of Tom Delay, President Bush's hit man. He replaced Charles Stenhome (D) of the 17th District, who was very good congressman, a very good Christian, and someone who served his people.
