Could it be said that there were as many people demonstrating against the poll tax as there are who used to legally have guns?
If so, then it would have been *possible* for the legal gun people to have retained their rights had they had the will to do so. If not, then not.
Trying to determine if it was a failure of will or a lack of numbers. Clearly from the poll tax experience the UK is at least a little responsive to the will of the population. Minorities, however, tend to be picked upon.
