Elsewhere I referred to you guys as Masters of the Art as far as computer programming was concerned and in particular with regards to your "ways" in working with Visual FoxPro. Today and here, let me tip my hat to you for your appreciation of a colleague's pain for being on the crosshairs of unemployment.
Chet. You keep on airing your perceptions of the system that is intent on taking your livelihood away. Twenty years ago, I was under the same crosshairs, and indeed the shot was fired. I did not do what you are doing. I think what you are doing is healthier. Later, though I did recover (in the process I lost a house here, a house in PR, did my dependency stint with the Salvation Army and the local United Way agencies, in order to provide for five children and a wife. I saw the bottom. I tasted gutter).
Today at 62, I am doing my calculations for retirement, everything looks great., and although I did not believe, at the time, the empathic and sympathetic words of most people around me, today I feel quite different.
To end with a trite observation: Lions don't need to roar, except when they are in pain! Go for it Chet... Get better soon. :()
Oh, and the cooler the better. Continue prepared and ready, you know what some say about being lucky and being prepared.... ;)
Oh, and Ted, Did the company ever found out who was stealing the money? (Bad joke!?)
Best regards to all you guys and gals.
