I knew Jeff when he was an Asst Prof at UCSD in the early 70's. He was teaching Photography then, and was very interested in Computer Art. Always walked around wearing an Army fatigue jacket, with a big SLR in the pocket.
His books (the Humane Interface) and articles are well worth reading. Even ifr you don't share his vision of Nirvana, he always offers a new point of view and some things you hadn't thought of.
