Firewall's off, thanks.

It seems to be "authenticating" whether my other machine has permissions
or not...at the folder level -- each folder takes 3 or 4 seconds to
display in the file manager when I open up the machine in network
neighborhood (or whatever the XP equivalent is). If this wasn't my
employer's machine, I'd blast XP and install Win2k Pro....
