Right now I have a VFP 8.0 application that uses native VFP tables. If I were to switch my back end database to a database that is accessable over the internet would it be better to switch to mysql or sql server. My office does own sql server because it came with Small Business Server 2003 . Are there any costs at all to use Mysql with replication for a web site? We do not own the license for using Sql server on a web site but I understand that they are can be found on Ebay for a fraction of the regular cost. Also can you just take an existing app which was not designed initially to use mysql or sql server and using ODBC just get the data from the mysql or sql database without reprogramming the app? How well does that work? Thank you very much Judith Barer Star-K Kosher Certification Baltimore, MD 410-484-4110 410-653-9294 - fax www.star-k.org
