My suspicion is that folks who use dockable forms have very large and,
probably, dual monitors.

I don't, and even if I did, it's additional clutter. Yes, you can pin
and unpin dockable forms, which is what I do in the VS.NET IDE, but
that is also a little unnerving, IMO.

So, I guess I'm venting and saying, yeah, it's a lot of "gee whiz."
