Hi Pete,

I suppose a lot depends upon how long you intend keeping and using the
computer. If you're going to replace it after 18 months or so then I
wouldn't bother. PCs are virtually obsolete from the moment you take them
out of the box, after all.

Most of the shop-sold extended warranties aren't very good value anyway. The
shop takes a big chunk of the money as commission from whoever actually
operates the scheme. You might well find you can get a better deal from an
independant maintenance company.

Cheers
Gary

Subject: [NF] 3 year extended warranty for notebook?

Hi Everybody!

The 15 inch Toshiba notebook (Celeron 2.4, 512, 40, Combo drive, XP Home)
that I bought a while ago could have a 3 year extended warranty from
Circuit City for $233.19. Should I get it?

Regards,

Pete
