How old is the notebook? That's a good chunk of change IMO.
It is always a risk you will have to weigh out. The odds are in your favor
that nothing will happen, but then again it might. I guess what you need to
ask yourself how bad off you'd be if the notebook failed and cost more than
$200 or so to repair. If it were me and I could recover from the failure,
I'd go on just the manufacturer's warranty alone. I haven't had a notebook
failure since about 1994, though, and it happened within a few weeks after
purchase.
