Michael -
My apologies ? I just made some grand assumption you knew the acronyms.
WAMP - Windows/Apache/mySql/PHP
LAMP - Linux/Apache/mySql/PHP

so the concept is , really, to code and test on your WAMP system in your
office,
and then post it to your production LAMP 'system' that your webhosting firm
has leased to you.

Want a good WAMP distro ? go to http://www.foxserve.net [ain't the name
ironic?] It has a decent control panel .

What I find to be rather cool is that most packages written for LAMP can be
run in WAMP, with little to no modifications. Here's an example -
http://efgroup.net/be/public_html - but the content is sparse [you have
been warned] and I was putting it there for a cross-test [again, WAMP to
LAMP] . XRMS is another example [see sourceforge for more info], but XRMS
absolutely takes advantage of the adoDB thingie I mentioned earlier today .

on the rfp page ? its just a work in process, not only not linked from
anywhere or to anwhere, but just a WIP - obviously I'll have a few more
layout changes. Ready to laugh ? VFP is the biggest graphic there, right ?

the referral thingies - It comes out once a week here for the vfug
fundraiser in the profoxads, and also each time I reply [well, mostly]

--MJB said [and I quote]
WAMP? LAMP?
I see this for LAMP:
http://webopedia.com/TERM/L/LAMP.html
...and so I assume that the WAMP is the same except Windows instead of
Linux...
And as for your site referral thingies, yeah, I see them now that you
pointed them out...nice. One thing: one the
http://efgroup.net/efgdata/rfp.html page, why put VFP and Foxpro near
the bottom of the list? I know I think but wanted to hear it from the
source....
