I like the effect, mostly. It mirrors the lines of the logo, resulting in a parallel-feel rather than triangular, which isn't ideal, but that is subtle.

Ok great. I've been writing standard html manually for so long that I didn't realized they finally made it less arbitrary with what tags have closers and so on.

I don't like the separation between the subheads and following paragraph.

Sure, I just don't want the text to get too wide, as it is more difficult to read. Also, I want to allow for screenshots and perhaps other visual elements on the right.
