I would say yeah, because MS is a highly competitive company and VFP is a much more powerful product than the company wants to admit. Trouble for VFP is that nobody has moved to compete with it, so it's stayed out of the limelight. Betcha if a real VFP competitor emerged for Linux, that would get MS off it's butt!
