This seems so true, Bob. And so many have had the same conspiracy theory that the only reason VB survives is because of Bill Gates...but does that *really* hold any water? If it was crap, don't you think they'd dump it no matter if BG loved it or not?
I do believe what you said about LCD programmer types...so many in our culture strive for just "good enough." That reminds me of a saying I heard awhile back: "Good is the enemy of Great."
