Right. Making sure the next world class business app is not written by
an independent dev or small shop seems to be job #1. Give the big
houses like Peoplesoft and SAP what they need, good general purpose
languages and make sure there is nothing that can give the independent
dev a chance to score big.
I wonder if Bill realizes that his decline in wealth this year, may be
in some direct proportion to the loss of time developers spent on VFP
this year? One more year like this and Warren Buffet will catch or
pass him.
Maybe the chorus of "Anything but Microsoft", "Anything but Windows"
being lived by the "developers, developers, developers" hasn't
penetrated the old chrome dome CEO, but when Bill is eating Warren's
dust they might give VFP and the independent and small business dev
another thought.
