I never said I want anyone to lose their job. I am saying that if such a terrible thing should happen, a little imagination can go a long way, because there really are a lot of things that need doing.
This is part of a larger set of feelings that being protectionist and aggressive are NOT good ideas. We should be embracing the world and all the challenges it offers - there are no shortages. So what if companies outsource some stuff when there are tons of other projects that need to be done here as well as abroad? Can't you look around and see something that needs to be done?
A lot of people, myself included, are fearful and paranoid about what can happen in a world gone mad (war). We - nobody - can win a war in the nuclear age, so we must move to make it obsolete. We can only do that with a cooperative world, and our behavior has been decidedly against that grain.
