Last summer (2002) my wife & I crossed from Glacier Park, MT, to Waterton
in Canada. We had our passports with us, on my brother's advice, but
didn't need 'em. Our drivers licenses were sufficient.

Check with Canadian Customs (must have a website!) for current rules.
