I think you answered your own question. You said, "Our company's entire foundation is built on our name and sales databases." If your building is destroyed, insurance or a large wallet can quickly replace the structure and equipment easily enough, but what about your data? Without a backup of the data, how would you continue business considering the "company's entire foundation" is now GONE? The equipment is easy to replace, but most businesses today rely on the data that they so casually dismiss as not important enough to backup.
