I'm glad that through inflation and rising wages, INCOME TAX revenue has
increased. DUH!

Person makes 40,000 and takes a new job with a 20% raise. Unfortunately
they have a longer commute, including a Train Ticket into NYC.(5,6,700 a
month?) They now pay a NYC tax as well as the others that they had before.
Last, they lost 45 min of time at home with their family for each direction
of travel (90 min per day).

Your graph shows the gain our wage earner made and how the government is
making some more money. But as you can see in the above sample the poor
bastard lost big time. Train travel is a new burden he must pay. Much like
our nations debt.

This is a useless chart unless they've taken other factors into account and
show
what they are. Population rise, income patterns, GDP rise, etc. One could
also
surmise that there has been increase in Federal Revenue in spite of tax cuts
rather than because of them!

I do notice from the chart that there was a rather significant dip after
Reagan's tax cut and one that persists today after Bush's tax cuts. Another
interesting item is that there was no dip after Kennedy's tax cuts. There
is a
major one after Nixon's election. There's no dip after Clinton's minor tax
increase...actually, an acceleration.

Maybe the real lesson is that everyone should vote Democrat since from the
evidence in the Heritage Foundation's chart, they're the only ones who can
hold
office without harming the economy.
