What?
" it would be a maintenance nightmare for the IT department and for us to separate the databases by user. We've talked about it and decided it's simply not an option..."
First, my work in the past with Citrix - I remember the level of automation that can be executed at the time the user logs into the system...
I also remember that each user is supplied their own working space (temp directory environment, home directory environment, ect...) - it seems trivial to ensure that...
1. There is _not_ a Remote views directory in the common data path. 2. That during login to Citrix, each user is copied the _tiny_ DBC and related DBT, ect into their local data directory that is found in their path...
Is this really a problem? The source of the copy can be updated anytime the developers want, and thus ensuring that each time a user logs in, they get the latest and greatest version...
It's not separating the database by user - it's ensuring during login each user gets a copy of the same database...
Good yes?
