IMO, copyright has nothing to do with this. And I don't really give a rat's ass about whatever legal issues may or may not be involved.
When Cindy sent you a private email, the implication was that she wanted to take it off the forum. That is why is was "private", John. *You* were the intended forum. The fact that your writings were contained in her email is irrelevant. You violated an implied trust and, IMO, you owe her an apology.

I'm completely lost. Help me understand how her email wasn't a "separate email" and why you think that it was still part of the original (ProFox) chain. On second thought, don't.
Jim

Cindy incorporated my writing into a private email - away from the intended forum. I merely redirected the discussion back to the intended forum.
If Cindy wanted to send me a separate email that would have broken the chain - I would not have done as I did.
Since my writings were contained, at the very least, I am one of the copyright owners and as such - have the right to do with it as I please.
Sorry...but the "rules", such as they are - cut in my favor on this one....
Bottom line...you incorporate something I write into an email you send me, I have the right to do with it as I wish. And FWIW, Whil certainly had the right to post a private email to Ken. IMO, it happened to be bad form when juxtaposed with his supposed goal.
No need to argue this any further...
