Maybe it was the French oil contracts with Saddam Hussein. A war puts those
in jeopardy.
<Nor, it seems, were the arguments and
bribery enough to get Turkey's full cooperation.<<
Turkey has designs on annexing the Kurdish territories (including the
northern Iraqi oil fields). They couldn't very well do that if they were a
willing partner in the coalition.
Each to his own special interests.
