if still not responding check you Application /System events may be the email proggy cannt startup at all.

OK. I started the service. Typed:
netstat -n -a | find ":110"
in a DOS session. This time, no response whatsoever.
When I type:
TELNET LOCALHOST 110
I still get the response:
'Could not open a connection to host on port 110 : connect failed'
No firewalls.
Any ideas?
