I have a Dell server, notebook, and workstation. I have had ZERO trouble
with any of them. I do tend to go for the slightly higher end stuff so =
that
it lasts longer, though. I concentrate on a lot of RAM, a fast bus, and =
fast
disk drives. For doing development work with a lot of data I/O, they =
seem to
be more important than CPU speed, and it makes the computers usable for =
a
lot more time.
My workstation is a dual processor PIII 800 with 512MB RAM, and I'm =
still
perfectly happy with it after something like 30 months now.
I think my notebook is about 18 months old now. It is a Dell Latitude =
C810
PIII 1.133 with 512 MB RAM, and I'm still perfectly happy with it as =
well.
