It will run, until the next time you start it--at which time it looks at the date again.
Due to the difficulty of gaining control again of VFP after an application has crashed in the development mode I restart quite often. I am slowly training Intellesense to allow a more sophisticated method of debugging.
So far the time bomb is indeed a pesky form of nag screen. I say to M$: give me a time bomb patch or give me the Release Candidate. I am a M$ Solution Provider (Certified Partner) so I am entitled.

If you change the system clock to a date prior to Jan 31,2003, launch VFP 8.0 beta and change the system clock back to the current date and time, VFP 8.0 beta still works. I made a change to a VFP 8.0 beta project and saved it. Looked at the date and time on the file. It shows 2/1/2003 7:20AM. I'm using MDY date format for my system clock and my system clock is constantly getting updated by DatumTime Greenwich Electronic Time.

Five minutes ago my VFP 8.0 Beta gave a Time Bomb message and refused to run. I immediately set my clock back a day and it started running again. So perhaps, the famous VFP Beta time bomb is mainly just a form of nag screen. Time will tell.
