dave, Been doing that for about 4 years now. However, I have a simplified sequence which executes at install time where : I check the for the presence of a serial number (provided by me to the client) in a control table; The serial number, combined with the install disk drive and motherboard serial number produces a 'key code'; The user sends the serial number entered, and the key codes generated to = a encryption resolution site; The software at the site generates a series of 'return keys' for the = user to enter at the install screen; The software is then installed (if the user does not screw up with the return keys). This prevents copying of the application software to run on a different machine. However, should the user change motherboard or hard-drive, legit-wise, the software requires another round of installation, but = using the same serial number.=20 This is a way of controlling who has the software, and prevents = fraudulent installations. There is no Demo mode. Paul
