forgot to mention that I control this behaviour with SetEnabled(.T.) in iToolbar.refresh() which should also be in the c-layer if my proposal seems logical.
This method is called by form refreshForm() then RefreshToolbar() so any change to the required toolbar is handled by a single call to thisform.refreshform()
