<i><font color="#663300"> I've gotten the source code for Codebook into the repository on <a href="http://www.sourceforge.net" target="_new">SourceForge</a>. Anyone who is interested in working with it needs to do a few things.
First, you'll have to get <b>WinCVS</b>, available at <a href="http://cvsgui.org" target="_new">http://cvsgui.org</a>. I've used both the 1.2 release as well as the beta 1.3b7 release, and have had good results with both. Read through the docs on the site, particularly the ones concerning using <b>ssh </b>authentication with WinCVS. The URL for the doc I used is <a href="http://www.jfipa.org/publications/CVSGuide/" target="_new">http://www.jfipa.org/publications/CVSGuide/</a>. This was very helpful.
Second, if you want to post your changes, you'll have to register on SourceForge (it's free, of course). Then let me know your SourceForge handle and I'll add you to the list of developers for the project. You'll also have to get a Win32 ssh client, such as Cygwin or OpenSSH so that WinCVS can connect to SourceForge's CVS.
I know this is going to be a little rough during the transition, but in the end I think this change will be a big help to <i>all</i> Codebook developers. </font></i>
Ed, I'm in the process of registering myself with SourceForge, and have downloaded v. 1.3b8 of WinCVS. My machine is WinXP with VFP7 and Visual.NET installed. Will this, as far as you know, satisfy the requirements for installation? You say that I would also have to get a Win32 ssh client ... err, well, hughgmmm... Would you please make a long story short as to what I should put in this machine to get the pieces of this process to link to each other?
BTW, on CB development: For some unk reason <g> I am taking longer than I thought in creating the sample application, but I'm one persistent bird, and I'm getting the hang of it (Still in the early stages, but with fairly complete understanding of the code, the classes, the business objects, and the PEMs). Most of the time what holds me up is something silly as you have seen in some of my messages here).
While I don't yet think I can ascribe myself a "developer", surely down the line, I will be able to contribute something. For now, the name I registered myself with in SourceForge is privera1.
Best regards!
