Can you explain what you are doing a little more clearly. I don't understand why you have 2 views of the same table. If you only need to see part of the table in your view then it will still save back to the table if you change anything.
I have managed to make grids do some strange things and will try to help however the general principle is not to try and make changes to the data from within the grid although I do have a few tricks for doing that.
