I struggle with Grids in Codebook.... in general I never use them, mainly because I can't get them to work! now, I have a situation where a grid is the best solution... Please help!
I always use views, I always set my bizobj's to have 2 DE's --- one has the View Parameter as itself (vp_cmeid), And it's underlying view includes all fields, filtered to ?vp_cmeid and is read/write with SQL update. The other DE has the View Parameter as the parent (vp_cpid) and the view is read only (no update) and filtered to ?vp_cpid.
This works great when you are selecting individual records to look at, but not well when you want a set of all children for a parent to display in a grid or navigate through that subset.
What is the best way to make grids work well with views and codebook???? Should I: --- set up a separate bizobj with view parameter based on parent but read/write the underlying view? --- add another DE to my existing bizobj (how does my biz obj know which DE to use? based on the view parameter for that DE I assume??? --- Something else???
Thanks for any help... This is one of those gray areas for me!
