I have a form that allows entry of one new parent and multiple children. Separate bizobj's are responsible for the parent and children. Question: When calling either the save or delete methods of the parent bizobj, does that method then propagate automatically to the child bizobj or must it be called explicitly?
Hey Virgil,
The answer is yes, as long as the child bizobj's have the cparentbizobj property filled out. The bizobj's register their children. Once a bizobj has had a parent bizobj selected, the save and next type methods will 'know' to take care of the child bizobj's. The save method performs a tablecommit for all the views associated with bizobj's on the form, as long as SQL updates are allowed for the view. The commits start with the parent and then trickle down through the children. You can set logical properties to perform tasks on the children, like automatically adding a blank record everytime a new parent record is added.
