I don't know if they say why the do, they just say they do. I believe it is due to all the version incompatiblities with the crape.ocx. They learned not to change exiting interfaces in the .DLL and to create new methods and properties so that old code would not break.
At least, that's the way it seems to me. Also, the RDC .dll is much more powerfull, it gives you a full object access to all the items in the report.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that Crystal quit supporting the OCX. Any info as to why? Should we be converting all interfaces in OCX to use DLL instead?
