Do you like beat up yourself? No? Then avoid using a grid for data entry. Only the simplest views can updated this way. There are many events that can cause errors. It is very consuming.
Use views to display choices to the users, then flip over to a page that shows a data entry form. You'll find that this process is natural and easy to control in CB. You'll be much happier.
There are / were some class libraries in the download area that you should look at. I believe they are Larry Bradley's grid classes, not certain about the ownership. They contain some methods to assist with editing in a grid and they may help you. Good luck.
