No, no DLL's required. Sometimes, though, trying to download through IE can be a pain, because IE is a notoriously bad FTP client.
Instead, open a regular Windows Explorer window, and in the Address field, type ftp://leafe.com/cb6/ - that will take you directly to the Codebook download directory, and you can download files as simply as copying them from a network drive. Try it!
