I would say, it is intentionally complex which makes it confusing at some points. Once you understand the arcitecture you have climbed most of the hill, the rest is just learning to use it.

Even the original release which came from Flash had limited documentation, it was actually released with a book. I don't think the intent of the book was to provide a framework to the comunity but to present a methodology for creating logically structured nTier apps.

But, with so many people new to oop with VFP, and some awesome code and classes in the framework, the 'code' became much more important than the 'book'.

All I can say is working with ANY framework will make you more productive. Even if you use the FFC that comes with VFP. You could make a worse decision than Codebook. The real nice thing is, you can make it yours, and if your mods are very generic and everyone likes them, Ed usually adds it to the 'distribution' version.

Nothing worthwhile is ever easy... <G>
