Okay, first let me apologize for getting off on a little rant in my initial message.

Before I get into the main focus of my message I just like to comment that I have found it very difficult to access this forum. Don't know if it's only me but it usually takes half a dozen tries before I get in.

Re: files location problem...MY FAULT. I used an older unzip utility that did not support using folders during the extraction process. FIXED

I do understand that Codebook is a volunteer supported product. But that's no excuse for the pitiful documentation. I mean, come on - I've read through some of the threads here and I'm not the only one to be frustrated by the lack of a decent source of information. Granted there is much information to be gleaned from reviewing some of the message threads here, and on other forums that relate to this product, but let's be realistic - there needs to be ONE DEFINITIVE SOURCE. One of the problems I found in the short time I've been involved with this is that the term "codebook" is a lot like kleenex. That compounds the confusion somewhat. One suggestion that I think would have cleared up a lot for me and that is some type of a "Codebook Chronology"....like maybe how and when it came to be and what has happened to it along the way. Kind of a "this is what it is and where it came from..." story.

I reinstalled the program using WinZip and everything went to the correct folders. I built a trial APP and got lots of errors (sorry but I didn't write them all down) but they ended up being caused by my naming the new app with - in the name. Again, apparently my fault, but shouldn't there be a trap for this on the entry screen???

So far I haven't had time to correct "my" mistake and try it again...but I will.

I understand also that people don't have time to take off from their paying clients to spend on Codebook. I am in the same boat...but I am willing to offer my assistance with Codebook. The problem as I see it, is that I can't even figure out how to create an application with it, so I doubt I would be of much use in support of the product. <g>

I will continue to provide updates on my progress if that is of any benefit to anyone.
