Hi Bhvbhuti,
Is there a sample using codebook framework?
There was, but I don't think it works with 6.1 and I have never used it. If I were to make a suggestion it would be to take the "Hello, World" approach to learning Codebook. Create things through an iterative process of small chunks. Once you can compile an app created by NewApp, start with one form, one table and a few controls and get them to work properly. Then add a business object with a data environment to handle validation.
The important thing about this approach is that as you learn, you will find that you have done some things incorrectly. When you see that you must be willing to throw a whole section of your work out and rewrite it. The best thing I ever did was throw out 90â0of an application. It took me one tenth of the time to get back to the same place and progress from that point on was considerably improved.
Thanks for your suggesstions. Aand I completely agree with you. Im basically a FPD programmer and Ive created a framework to suit me needs but as I had developed it I knew how to go about. This is a bit tough cause Im switching all of a sudden into full fleged OOPs and oops I dont dont know where to develop the menu option for the Hello World Ive opted for Object based menu
Thanks again for you help Regards Bhavbhuti ©2001 Bhavbhuti Nathwani |
