I do not think that in 2.0 Valentina will have ODMG support or own pure OO implementation, too many work.
But, yes, I mean that this will be possible. In 2.0 it will be much easier implement it than now (but also possible now I think).
I mean that third party developers can develop such wrapper self, no problems. Or with time this will do Paradigma.
Yes, Valentina is going to support SEVERAL API models. -- pure ala-COM interfaces -- current VDK classes -- pure OO model of persistent classes.
