Hi,
I produced a Director project. Originally it was a collection of = thousands of images distributed on 10 CD-ROMs. The Software had to be = installed on the user's hard disk, because during the use of the = software the user had to change the CD-ROM in the drive in order to make = the different images accessible by the software.=20 The images data is stored in a Valentina database. Now we are shifting this project onto one single DVD-R. Because all = images are now on one medium, there is no need to change it anymore. = Therefore the software could possibly stay on the DVD-R without = installation on the hard disk. My question is: what happens with the = Valentina functionality? Because if the database files are accessed on = the DVD-R they are read only of course. The data itself is not = modifyable by the user, but he can perform sql queries which might need = the index to be rebuild or extended. Will this be possible when even the = index file is read only? Or do I have to build an index for every field = that's needed and burn this full index onto the DVD?
Ruslan, your help would be very appreciated.
