Hi all,
I am experiencing a bizarre problem with outer joins. Basically what happens is that when I send an outer join SQL on one particular database to Valentina, it crunches forever making the index file larger and larger until I kill it or it runs out of space . I let it go to 1 GB once. The database is about 15 MB. I have completely recreated the database using V4RB 1.9.6b4.
The database has many many tables and ObjectPtr links. But the problematic SQL is very simple and involves only 2 tables joined with an ObjectPtr. The inner join of the same SQL works without any problem.
I tried to recreate the problem with the _Test database but I cannot. I am trying to pin down the problem so I don't have to send Ruslan the particular database with the problem. It has personal data and I don't want to send it on the internet, so I would have to try to scramble it somehow but there are many fields. Has anyone made a database scrambler? Yes I know I could encrypt it, but I still have to send the key and thus it's still not safe.
In the meantime, I was hoping someone else out there might have seen the same thing so we can try to figure out the circumstances that cause it.
Using V4RB 1.9.6b4.
Best Regards, Frank
