But you can open win db on the MAC by YOUR app, yes?
And can not by VAPP ???

I wonder if you did not forget to close that db in your RB application
BEFORE you try to open it in VAPP ?

This is not normal.

Try to move from Windows ONLY .vdb file and open it by VAPP.
Works ?

Aha, may be you mean that VAPP do not see your db in Open dialog?
If yes, then you need just assign creator for .vdb file as VALA.
