.. or it IS a VAPP bug, probably a invalid Ptr write. Those are not
trapped in OS 9, and will just cause random havoc in teh machine, maybe,
but OSX kill you instantly when you write to someone elses memory,

Btw, edit your /etc/hostconfig and add the line
CRASHREPORTER=-YES-

(need to be root to do that)

To enable root user, do
(1) Start NetInfo manager
(2) Choose Domain->Security->Authenticate
(3) Choose Domain->Security->Enable root user.
(4) set a pasword.
